Masham, where the Dales begin

Masham is a historic market town with one of the largest market squares in the country, a Wednesday market and a popular Saturday market for local produce. It's known for its breweries, and there's a gin distillery where you can book tours. Pubs, restaurants and independent shops are all on the doorstep.

Further afield

The town is well placed for walks and bike trails across the Yorkshire Dales and Nidderdale. Harrogate, Ripon, Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, and RHS Garden Harlow Carr are all a short drive away.

What our guests say

“We stayed at Prospect House with friends and had the most amazing weekend. Firstly, the house is beautiful, with everything you need. The house is well located, with great facilities. The bus to york was £2 which was fantastic and the garden centre down the road did lovely coffee. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family! Thank you again for having us :)”

“Very spacious, clean, well equipped & plenty of character. Easy access to York via park & ride or taxi (no problem with Uber driving out). Any questions (e.g. wi fi code) were promptly answered”

“We stayed, all 6 of us and a puppy, and we had the best time! Beautiful house, great location, amazing hot tub and pub literally 10 steps away. The noise from the pub, not that there was much, could not be heard inside the house. Lots of walks, great little market and fish and chip shop. Definitely stay again!!”
